Cardiff Players are Changing

Welcome to the New Exciting Cardiff Players

After 80 years of entertaining audiences in Cardiff

the Cardiff Players are changing.

We will be a really exciting outward-looking group that is even more welcoming to new members and new ideas.

What's On.

After many years of being tied to a "season" of 5 plays performed between September and April, we will now run year-round, with productions being planned on a play to play basis. This will ensure that each production has the full concentration of the group's resources and enthusiasm and at the highest level of production values. We will also be trying out new venues, bringing the Players to different audiences.

The first production of this new era will be something that The Players have never attempted before.....

Shakespeare!

In November "The Players" will stage

So... we want as many people as possible to take part in this project. We will be running workshops before rehearsals begin, using the huge talents of award-winning directors and actors, Gareth & Mavis Gibbs. We will also be trying to arrange some professional input in the workshops as well.
To get involved in this exciting new project in any capacity (we will really need help with set design and build, costumes, lighting and stage managing etc, and of course actors - lots of actors), email the
director, Geoff Lake, at geoffnbarb@hotmail.com It's going to be great fun!

Message from the Chair:

"Here we are on the brink of a really exciting new era for the Cardiff Players. It's exciting but scary at the same time. The Players have been producing our 5 plays every season since before I was first involved (1965) and now we are attempting to do things differently, use different venues and attract a wider membership and audience. I hope we will look back at this time and say that this was the beginning of great things"
