Young Carers

Young Carers are children & young people under 18 years old who help care for a family member who lives with them.

The family member could be experiencing difficulties with one or more of the following:


A Young Carer provides help “Caring” in many different ways. This could include doing housework, washing, dressing, providing medication, cooking and providing emotional support.

Cardiff YMCA “ TIME 4 ME” Young Carers Project provides support and a break to Young Carers, a chance to meet other Young Carers, make new friends & have some fun!
